Welcome to the AOANJRR
The Australian Orthopaedic Association National Joint Replacement Registry (AOANJRR) is an initiative of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA). The Registry was established in 1999 becoming fully national in mid 2002. The purpose of the Registry is to improve and maintain the quality of care for individuals receiving joint replacement surgery. Information on hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle and spinal disc replacement is collected from all hospitals in Australia undertaking joint replacement surgery.
The Registry is entirely funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.

2012 Reports
This year the recently released 2012 Annual Report on Hip and Knee Arthroplasty publishes findings on over 713,000 procedures undertaken between 1 September 1999 and 31 December 2011.
There are also eleven supplementary reports; all are publicly available by selecting the Publications tab.
This year for the first time, the supplementary report on Demographics and Outcomes of Shoulder Arthroplasty includes a written section summarising the findings.
Also included is the Lay Summary report which provides a clear, concise and easily understood explanation of the findings published in the annual report.
